What do you mean by "only available from wsw store"? You mean it's at the store for sale, or that the model was made specifically for wsw?

148x46 wow sounds like a good light wind board.

WindRyder 12-04-2007 08:50 AM

Tom Stock, if you ever see Roy's brother, Paul out (which is not often), he has that XXXL UG board. Check it out, it is huge, ugly, but great for light wind.

No, its for sale by me, but WSW was the only store the manufacture made the board in yellow. It is a perfect light wind board and I think it looks cool windryder.

Tom Stock 12-04-2007 11:09 PM

so they only made it in yellow for wsw??

toby wilson 12-04-2007 11:20 PM

Tom, to answer your question, in the 142 for 2006, yes. I am not sure there was a 148 in 2006, just a 142. WSW ordered ALL sizes in yellow to make sure you don't lose it though. I believe the 152 was the one that was originally yellow anyway from most if not all other shops, the rest came stock in other colors...green (I think the 142), red (I think the 132) and some other colors for the other sizes...As I'm sure you know though you may come across some other custom graphics from other shops as UG (at least back then in 2006, not sure about their policy now) would put anything you want on their boards for graphics...for a PRICE. ;)

The XXXL (148 by 46) was very similar to the Glide in dimensions.
It was developed by UG with the help of Daryl.
The first 30 or so that came out had EK on the top and bottom.
I believe RickI got one from the first batch.

After the first batch, all sorts of graphics were used on the 148 by 46.
The cost use to be 150 (one time charge) for custom graphic.

Rick talks about it a little here. The board is pretty big. :) Look how it dwarfs those models.

Holy that thing is massive!!!

A-Bomb 12-05-2007 12:31 PM

Yea, I saw Roy ride it one day last season. It reminded me of a coffee table. I'm sure it's a very competent light wind weapon though.

Skyway Scott 12-05-2007 01:40 PM

It's massive. What is funny is the Glide isn't much smaller.
BUT, the graphics on the Glide (first edition) were exceptionally crafty, imo, and make the board look reasonable with the use of longitudinal lines and shading (no, I don't know what I am talking about, actually).

The graphics Daryl chose for the first XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXL were cool, but man, they made the board look friggin' huger than it already was. :???:

I bet the yellow one looks much better. (Boy, talk about hijacking a used gear thread) :)

tseckerson 12-05-2007 03:27 PM

ya it's big but when your pushing 225 and 6'4 size does matter, it is great for light winds and when you just got divorced and filing bankrupcy like me, you need to sell your stuff, refer these items to some one who wants good gear barely used please, help a brother out

Skyway Scott 12-05-2007 04:34 PM

That's a great big guy light wind board. That's what it was designed to be.
You will sell it.

Have you listed it on iKitesurf's used gear section or Ebay, yet?
Ikite seems like a good place to sell stuff. At least in my experience.

I actually linked to Rick's thread (which links to mine on EK) on purpose, because everyone had good comments about it.

I hear ya! Yeah I was interested at first but it won't fit in my little toyota!

BTW, I went through both a divorce and bankruptcy 5 years ago so I know where you're coming from... bankruptcy was one of the best decisions I ever made (not that I had much of a choice at the time, it was after 911 and I was unemployed for a full year).

Only a few years later I had a new house, new credit cards (that I avoid using), new car, and best of all no debt...just make sure you keep it that way.

Xxxl

Yup I was ridding my brothers XXL UG, he still has it. Very good light wind board. It did feel like I was ridding a coffee Table!!! Its great for flat water light wind days. Not too sure how it would do in the chop.

I rode the new Skywalker Light wind board last week. Man that thing is a huge improvement over last year model. Same size, but a little diffrent shape. Last years Skywalker was a spray you in the face machine! Heck I think it was worst than my Aggression Barndoor. This year no spray in the face and cuts through the chop very well! I think I am going to pick one up and sell my Barndoor. I love that barndoor but its not the greatest thing to ride in choppy water. The only problem with it is the graphic is HORRIBLE!!! Man what was Dimtri thinking when he put that graphic on the board. It looks like Barney jacked off some of his purple spew on it!

Tom Stock 12-06-2007 01:10 PM

I thought I was the only one who complained about spraying boards. Boards that spray drive me crazy.

Are the tips more rounded with more curve in the rail outline, fins further in? A straight rail and squarish tips, with fins close to the edge of the tip seems to make a board spray like mad.

Trent's anomaly was actually pretty good for a light wind board... not much spray at all. The glide sprays a lot.

shogun1204 12-06-2007 01:15 PM

The tips are cut off at a 45 degree angle. Check out the pic of the board. Yes that is what is looks like too! GEESH IT IS UGLY!!! The sad thing is when you see it in person it even worse!

AHAHAHAHAHA

WOW

Looks like my first NASH skateboard in 1986.

Well hey at least the board rides nice!

Skyway Scott 12-06-2007 02:44 PM

Longest and most hijacked used gear thread of all time.

Here is a "real life" pic of it's color. Is that a flying station-wagon?

I liked the graphics on the very first ones released the best of all of them. Especially the little space alien "mascot" guy.
(they are screwing with my avatar, please just ignore it :) )
