Whats the dumbest questions you get asked...

Help me out with this, making a list for something

when your on the beach, what are some of the questions you get asked?

like "can i rent one"

WindRyder 07-07-2008 01:47 PM

1. "Can I take a ride on your back?" (Harry was asked just this weekend, by some drunk July 4th tourist)
2. "How much does that cost?"
3. "Is it hard?"
4. "Do your arms get tired holding that thing?"
5. "Does that ever pull you up in the air?"
Rush's answer to, "Where can I get one of those?" is Wal-Mart!!! LOL

Danimal8199 07-07-2008 02:50 PM

How long did it take you to learn?
Can I try?
Do you think my 4 year old son would like that?
How do you not get taken out to sea?
Have you ever been killed doing that? (Yeah, someone asked that)

ricki 07-07-2008 03:59 PM

Can we watch from here? (ten feet downwind from the lines prior to kite launch)

Where is the boat to pull you up?

It's blowing 20 out and they ask, can I try your kite, I've been surfing for years and can handle it.

How much does that cost? (not how much to learn to use it and stay out of the ER)

There have been so many that I've forgotten some of the really good ones.

sean92989 07-07-2008 04:00 PM

not to long ago someone asked me if I was getting ready to parasail? and where my boat was. but the 2 main questions are "how much, and is it hard?"

conchxpress 07-07-2008 04:21 PM

Dangerous words

What are the two most common words that precede an accident in just about any endeavor?..............."Watch this..."

Didn't have any dumb questions to relate, other than the ones already mentioned.

marina c 07-07-2008 04:32 PM

where did you jump out from (think you're a skydiver)

Can I rent those for my 6-year old boys? (then proceeded to get into a fight with me when I told her they were not toys)

I do "xyz" and don't need lessons

how do you get back?

inferno 07-07-2008 04:47 PM

that looks like fun, its pretty windy isnt?
(meanwhile its blowing 11knots and i have my biggest kite/board out)

Skyway Scott 07-07-2008 05:19 PM

There is zero wind, a kite is pumped up, and being asked "Why aren't you riding?"

Even more dumb... being somewhere in zero wind with a kite pumped up.

Todd RT 07-07-2008 06:01 PM

After rinsing the kite out in the yard, and allowing it to dry...

"You're in the doghouse with your wife... huh?"

"...Sleepin' in the tent tonight?"

Brent B 07-07-2008 06:10 PM

C. Moore 07-08-2008 07:44 AM

"Is that thing filled with helium? I was wondering how it stayed in the air."

What plane did you jump from.

Tammy and I were asked by a lady at Cocoa Beach if we were pro's. LOL

It was really windy yesterday and you weren't in your office, did you go out riding?

RbGar 07-08-2008 08:20 AM

how does that harness work with a sex swing?

Jeff 07-08-2008 10:27 AM

Got a little light wind kiting in over the holiday weekend, and about 5:00 the wind spiked up like 20 something..I b lined straight in because i was on a 15 and there was an approaching squall. after safely landing some Drunk guy that was hanging around wanted to try holding it in the beach insisting he was a surfer and can handle it..( No we didn't let him near it ..)

Have you guys ever had some overweight non athletic looking people asking for lessons ?? We get that all the time in Florida...
What are these people thinking ???

Best one I have got from drunk rednecks here on PC Beach.

"Hey! Is those yours kites, or can you rent them from one of those rent shed thingy's."

Drunk rednecks jump out of his chairs starts running towards me with a beer in his hands yelling "Hey wait up, I want to try that!"

Best one of all!
While kites are sitting on the beach, "How much ya'll rent them tents for?"

Maybe if they got into the sport they would lose weight....
Or is kiting only for tiny guys?

Don't be quick to judge, I am an "overweight non athletic looking person" who has taken kiting very seriously and kites all the time. I understand there are limits but I am 280lb and can cruise upwind in 14mph.

I have seen people give the "This is to extreme for you attitude" to people asking about the sport. It would be a lot nicer to share your love of the sport and point them in the right direction (lessons). Rather than assume they are not athletic enough.

Yeah these some of these people will never throw a handle pass.... But there is a lot more to the sport than wakestyle tricks

ricki 07-09-2008 06:31 AM

There are dumb statements, then there are dumber actions. How many people have had someone try to grab their bar or actually do so? What happened? This has had some nasty consequences at times even though the bystander may have been trying to "help".

The Kite House 07-09-2008 08:40 AM

I was going to post that rick.....so many times i have had people walk up and be talking and grab the bar.....unreal

a short funny story:

A guy came up to me and asked what i was doing. I had the kite up. I told him i was fishing. He said bull shit, i told him look i dont car what you think, i go out there look for fish and scoop them up with this kite , thats why its this shape. Again he said bullshit, how can you hold them. I explained the theory of the bucket of water and spining it around and the water doest come out. No i had him a bit, i told him to wait on the beach and i would be dumping fish there. i went out riding, messing around, getting the kite low to the water ect.... he was there for like 20 mins

one of the other local kiters walked on to the beach and was watching, he said something to the guy like, he having fun...huh?

guy said i dont know about fun, but this guy sucks at fishing

so the point, people will belive anything!.........like saying its an easy sport and dont take lessons

jaco 07-09-2008 10:30 AM

The funniest thing is how we all get the exact same questions kiting in different parts of the county, different skill levels, and different spots. HA...i just find it hilarious.

kitebarbie 07-17-2008 12:49 PM

Dumbest question

"Do you have to be able to swim to do that?"
