Beneath The Red Sea In Photos - PART II
Started a new thread to try to keep the image loading rate a bit faster. So, here goes some more ...
http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/...r_IMG_5270.jpg Brett motors over a nice patch of reef, neat wetsuit! http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/Brett_IMG_5245.jpg http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/napolean.jpg We try to bring Napolean fish in by rolling our fists like "eggs." Who thought Napolean was that crazed by eggs, also, where do these fish come by chicken eggs in the Red Sea. Inquiring minds wanna know? http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/Niki_IMG_4712.jpg Niki rests on the bottom http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/...r_IMG_5246.jpg Nice drop offs in the Red Sea http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/reef_IMG_5296.jpg Great colors, a water color scene from a hundred years ago. . |
A few more, these are from reefs off Hurghada. Despite being in the north, more crowed and developed area, the corals look very good. At least once you move away from the normal tie up spot.
http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/...ls_MG_6260.jpg Some of the delicate, varied soft corals the Red Sea is famous for http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/soft_IMG_6267.jpg http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/fish.jpg A sea of fry beneath a coral pinnacle http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/turtle_IMG_6270.jpg An amazing sight! A turtle without a payload of sharksuckers (aka remoras). What would a remora possibly want to eat that a turtle would likely take down, jellyfish, turtlegrass? These suckers must have skipped school that day. http://www.fksa.org/albums/album454/reefs_IMG_6226.jpg The Reef. Takes me back, when I was a kid, impeccable reefs, overseas anyway, were commonplace. Not so much anymore, still you can see some mighty fine healthy corals in places here. . |
