Here is the current NWS forecast for the area immediately north of the event site. The site is near the dividing line of two zones. The southern forecast zone is similar. EXPECT the forecast and actual wind conditions to change some more over the next few days:

Overnight...East winds 10 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet with a dominant period 7 seconds. Mostly smooth on the intracoastal waters.

Friday...East winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 1 to 2 feet with a dominant period 7 seconds. A moderate chop on the intracoastal waters.

Friday Night...Southeast winds 15 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet with a dominant period 4 seconds. A light chop on the intracoastal waters.

Saturday...South winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 3 to 4 feet. Choppy on the intracoastal waters. Showers likely and chance of thunderstorms.

Saturday Night...Southwest winds 15 knots becoming west 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Seas 3 to 5 feet. A light chop on the intracoastal waters. Chance of showers in the evening.

Sunday...North winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 5 to 6 feet. Choppy on the intracoastal waters. Slight chance of showers.

Sunday Night...Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas calm.

North winds are side onshore in Jupiter. True south winds are side offshore in Jupiter. It is possible that they may not be true south winds, could bend parallel to the coast nearshore, creating side shore winds. This despite the wider area forecast. Fingers crossed. May bring some nice swells in for the SUP portion of the event as well.

Watch the forecasts, have fun.

Umm, where is the even site? Near the kite shop? I can't find any info here or at the shop's website as to the location.

Here is a map, used to have one on the shop website. Wonder why they ditched it.

Take Indiantown Road east from either I-95 or the Turnpike, turn south on A1A in sight of the beach. The kiting area is to the east of that undeveloped tree covered area to the North of "The Bluffs North" (see the map). You should see kite gear all over the place on the cars, and hopefully a few dozen in the air.

Just spoke with Neil by phone. The wind is light and side offshore, hopefully getting out of the night time pattern. They are going to get some SUP races off now and watch winds develop. South should cause some nice swell development to add to things. I checked and it is already blowing south of Jupiter, perhaps working northward up the coast. It seemed to do this yesterday. It is 16 to 20 kts. avg. 17 kts. in central Palm Beach County now. Hopefully the wind will continue to move up the coast and be there shortly. The winds may bend side shore from side off with thermals too. It is sunny right now, a good sign. The zone forecasts both north and south of the event say around 15 to 20 kts. S. Jeremy was talking about staging PWC or a boat if there is an offshore component. Wind in south Palm Beach County is getting stronger as I'm typing this. I'm heading up there now.

Hey,
Anyone know what the events are for today, with NNE winds forecast?
What events took place yesterday?

Winds should be side onshore today per the forecast. They are just north of Jupiter in Jenson Beach at 21 mph and moving south now. Should be in Jupiter soon from indications. The forecast from NWS is:

Saturday...South winds 18 to 22 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet near shore and up to 4 to 6 feet well offshore. Intracoastal waters a choppy. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Hi of 70 F

As to what happened yesterday, check out the Mystery Event post.
