Is there a safe and pain free way to learn kite loops?

I am comfortable looping my kite while I am riding on water and snow (board is on the surface). I have spent a couple of sessions trying kite loops off of back rolls. Even these hurt some. Any advice?

Doing it un hooked? Get used to the hard falls. Hooked in then just let the kite come up to 12 to lift you off then once in the air go for the loop. Sort of a jump-down loop. Commit and you want to land going down wind. Remember the faster the kite gets back to 12, the faster it'll lift you again.

It's gonna hurt so hope you can handle it.

Unhooked loops are much easier for me anyway. The falls might hurt some either way for hooked in or unhooked, its just water so your gonna have to suck it up! :)

Gernerally, but not as of late we get alot of light wind. I usally teach people in light wind to do loops so you can get the timing and the feel, with out your brain and body saying i am not doing that again.

You can also use a smaller kite as well, go down a full size of normal. I would sugest un-hooked as some of the guys say fro just a hop off the water kite loop.

I really think the light wind helps or being very under powered, as then you can be agresssive, or do a back roll and pull the loop, and head towards the kite on landing, not away from it. Landing away creates alot more snap and tension.

As i said, requests to learn kite loops where way up this year, this is what we found was soloutionto let you climb the ladder to you really lite one up. Know what to expect i belive is better than smashand learn.

When I first tried, I just go boosted super high, and then yanked it. Never got slammed too hard!
