From the organizer of the pier to pier race, Naples to Fort Myers, Wind stalkers kiteboarding (swfloridakiteboarding.com), another event is born
But this time join force with Sub skin kiteboarding apparel and some Naples locals to organize the first annual Florida jr. kiteboarding amateur freestyle competition. Unofficial (fun only)

All 17and under are invited: attention
It does not matter what you can or can’t do, everybody has a chance to get points.
Points will be given for every trick even if it’s just a toe side or back roll.

How to enter
Any rider who has participated as a pro in any competition is not Allowed .
All riders have to be with a parent or guardian, (No parent or guardian no competition.)
A waiver must be signed by parent or guardian

No registration fee, yep no money

WE WILL ALSO CONSIDER THE FIRST WEEK IN APRIL AS IT IS SPRING BREAK MARCH 31TO APRIL 7

SCORE system: we will use a point system
1, points will be given for each trick.
2, there will be different heats and depending on how many points you accumulate you will go through to the next heat.
Prizes: at the moment the big prize is the title: FLORIDA JR FREESTYLE AMATEUR CHAMPION
NO MONEY INVOLVED

Judges wanted: minimum of 4 judges needed to volunteer for this event
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN BEING A VOLUNTEER JUDGE CALL ENRIQUE (239-601-2700) OR KELLY (239-200-1848)
Judges can not have any attachments to participants. (No parents, relatives or sponsors of participants)

Sponsors wanted: any body who believes this is a good cause, it does not matter who you are.

From stickers to a kite or a harness - please sponsor this competition.

Local support: even though this event is being held in one of the safest environments in Florida, we need local support, boats and jet skies are needed for filming the event and for the extra safety of the participants.

oh by the way, i think you should consider changing the age limit to 18, or a senior in highschool, cause i'll be 18 the beginning of my senior year (this december) so i wouldn't be able to compete again next year if i wanted to. yet i'll still be in high school??

We are also putting up a youth team in our school in Miami, and they are a lot of kids up to it down heretrust me.
The first confrontation will be the Miami Kiteboard MASTERS in april 12-13 : Freestyle, Race and Kicker/slider expression session with a Cash Prize!!

You made me change the following : Let's give a SPECIAL FOR JUNIORs during the Miami MASTERS: any kid under 18 will be discounted $20 for the freestyle contest. ( kicker / slider is based on a free Expression/session reserved only for those who entered the Freestyle contest ! sorry but only expert riders can give a try to the Slider during the Event.)
Therefore the FREESTYLE CONTEST WILL BE ONLY $30 FOR JUNIORS ( under 18 )
So when you register online and u are under 18, send us an email so we can call you to set up a direct payment over the phone. easier that way .

Ok now Enrique, it will be great if u can make sure you don't throw your (very welcome ) event on the same weekend than the Miami Masters : APRIL 12-13

Btw, I heard from IKO CEO today that IKO now Provides an Insurance for SCHOOL AND INSTRUCTORS valid worldwide INCLUDING USA and CANADA and Underwritten by LLOYDS of LONDON . Finally !
and way cheaper that the current Insurances sold to schools lately.
Effective by April 15th 2008. It is signed and ready to go.

This is going to be great exposure for these kids, the future of our sport. We've seen a lot of sponsors step up and give what they can to help out with the cause. Parents are more than happy that its based on their performances in school and that we're keeping their education as the primary focus. We're going to make this as memorable as possible with multiple video cameras rolling to capture the true moments of this event. So if you cant make it or have another event to participate in (there are some overlaps), we will have video to share with all.

Keep passing the word around to other young riders.
