Bonfire on the Beach?

So now that it's getting cold out I was thinking of chilling with some friends and having a bonfire on the beach. I am new to the area so was wondering what beach around st pete allows you to have a bonfire? Also do I need a permit or something like that?

nowhere,.....

not in St Pete anywhere whatsoever,

pretty much not in FL.

You gotta goto the Oregon coast to do that....

That's not true. I've camped on shell key before and had a fire there.

Just make sure that you follow all the rules a get a permit if you plan to camp overnight.
