In m experience, you need to set pressure 10-15psi for detail work on smooth surfaces. the higher pressure you set it at, the more distance you need from the surface in order to keep from dripping.....or just airbrush on a thin cotton cloth at at normal 20-25 psi for high detail. if this doesnt help maybe you are thinning your paint too much, and dont use water, use acrylic airbrush thinner.
