That's just funny looking. He looks like he is doesn't know what to do.
"Do I let go and eat it?... Do I hang on and lose the board?.... wtf!..., how do I stop this thing?!" :p

Galego 01-06-2008 06:09 PM

the cool thing with this kite is it makes everything seem like slowmotion. he actually had the time to think all of that to himself before he ate it.

Skyway Scott 01-06-2008 06:50 PM

Funny. Looks fun.
I bet you guys get weird looks from other boaters.

Galego 01-06-2008 07:54 PM

we did spend a lot of time laughing at each other today, but all in good fun. people everywhere, beach, boats, jetties, were all looking at us probably saying to themselves "what tha hell are those boys doin' out there?".
and with the wind forecast the way it is I'll probably get better at this faster than I'm doing at kitesurfing. go figure!

Is there some kind of safety leash on these things?
How about water relaunching the "kite"?

as long as the kite sits upright and behind you it will launch itself when the boat speed reaches 10 mph+/-. and there are 4 safeties that disconnect when either you or the kite crashes into the water. its a pretty simple setup and easy to rig even when floating in the water.
