I know it's after xmas and everyone is tight on cash, but for every $5 we donate someone gets to eat, drink and get shirt on their back. There's a lot of kids over there too.
I went through the online Unicef donation and it is really easy. The only thing is that it's in pounds, so I didn't know exactly how it converted. So I looked up a currency translator: http://www.convertit.com/Go/ConvertI...rter_Input.ASP For currency translation 1 US dollar$ = 0.519939 £ British Pounds which is the currency that Unicef asks for the amount in. $5= 2.599696 £ Pounds $10 = 5.199391 £ Pounds $20 = 10.398782 £ Pounds $30 = 15.598173 £ Pounds .... and so on. It's really the only way I can help so I hope it helps a little. |

Some other organizations that are also aiding the relief efforts:
UNICEF (US LINK) https://www.unicefusa.org/site/apps/...gLTKbOVKgI3IvK RED CROSS: https://www.redcross.org/donate/donation-form.asp CAREUSA: https://donate.care.org/05/20130000/...e=170570040000 INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL CORPS: http://www.imc-la.com/giving.htm DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS (MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES UK) http://www.msf.org/home-uk.cfmhttp://www.uk2.msf.org/donations/index.htm There's more charities I'm sure of, but those are the most notable. If anyone knows of any more please post them. All of their donation pages are easy to do online. |

Thanks for posting this donation information. It is important to contribute to an outfit that will deliver as much of the benefit to the victims as possible.
I am somewhat out of touch currently, but from what I have seen this is a major disaster of extreme proportions over a large geographic area. There has been great loss of life and property. The earthquake that launched it was one of the strongest on record. If a large scale disaster happened to us, as it has recently in Florida, helping out with donations is a very important thing that we can do. It won't put things back to rights alone but it will surely help in a time when so much has been lost. So, take a minute and contribute. You will feel good that you did. |
