Caution at Fort Lauderdale Kite Beach
I have been getting a lot of calls from kitesurfers visiting south Florida over the next few weeks...Please remember Fort Lauderdale is tough launch for beginners, and it is better if you are an intermediate upwind kiter....We have a limited 100 yard corridor for exit and entering to the shore...Lifeguards will stop you if you get in the swimming areas...Check out the local rules at
www.KitesurfUsa.com.. Go to the Fort Lauderdale kitesurfzone link to see the local boundaries... We will be offering beginner lessons with waverunner and or Jetboat assist, by appt..... Chris Kjos PASA instructor Fort Lauderdale |

There is NO tolerance for folks going downwind inside the swim buoys or beaching outsideof the designated launch in guarded areas. The lifeguards will shut us down if that happens. http://www.kitesurfusa.com/ftlaudksurfzone.jpg From: http://www.kitesurfusa.com/ftlaudksurfzone.jpg If you plan to ride off this singular but small, techical launch PLEASE carefully read over the rules at: http://www.kitesurfusa.com/ and be sure to check in before setting up and launching. Good winds! |
