Shallow jump gone bad

I understand a well known and regarded local rider was injured after striking bottom in very shallow water (< 2 ft.) yesterday off Crandon Park in Miami. Early impressions are that he broke a femur or a hip. Hope he is not that badly hurt and will recovery fully and fast!

Jump landings will go wrong over time, count on it. If there is insufficient water depth to slow you down, serious leg injury could well follow. Too many messed up knees out there, it is hard to resist boosting in shallow water at times. Still, it is worth forcing yourself to not do it anyway.
