VIRGINIA KEY BACK ON FOR SUNDAY!

The forecast is getting good again for anyone wanting to do Virginia Key to Mathenson. Totally unofficial race, one 12 pack to enter, winner takes all. Starting later in the day will give us a better shot at NE winds and the forecast holds through until the end of Monday. This is a 14 mile crossing with NO support. This means don't mess up or all you win is a 5 hr. swim.

If the forecast holds, let's be at Virginia for a 4:00 start. The ride takes less than 45 min. and riding should be good at the finish line. It's a mark, set, go at the start, and the first one to enter the no jump zone at Mathenson.

If the forecast holds, count me in. Come on all you South Fla. and Miami guys, how about it? Is Oliver out there?

I want to try again for saturday given the great forecast. more later.

Sounds like fun, I'm sorry that I missed it. Went overboard the day before between driving to St. Pete roundtrip and fun on the water. It sure is good to have wind back!

How many guys showed up?

Forecast shows good NE winds for the weekend (Nov 4, 5).
[Tampa Bay race most likely won't happen this weekend... wrong wind direction].

Kent, are you still planning Virginia Key -> Mathenson Park downwinder then?
I'll be in Miami area on Saturday (Nov 4) and have a friend from Boston coming by who is interested in participating, too.

Pls post updates here or send me a PM...

I talked with Kent, it sounds like the run to Miami is on hold. Stay tuned ...
