Sandkey downwinder anyone?? 02/04
 

I'm surfing early at sand key, then taking to kite out around 11 or 12pm. I'm still learning so not much upwind skill yet. Figure Id take the trolley back. Email me if interested.

Yeah I was a bit overpowered but it was my first time up and riding made it down to IRB and caught the trolly. It was fun but so hard to edge out in the shore break. Just need some time on flat water to get some upwind ability. I'm sure I looked like a squid but we all gotta start somewhere.

As it sounds like you're self-describing yourself as a noob, what was your self-launch and land techinque. I only ask as I'm rather a noob too, and I haven't decided on my preferred technique(mainly cuz I'm too scared to try alot of them). So far my pattern is to just try to pick a location with an immobile object and hook to it. Seems pretty safe. I've asked opinions on it on this forum before and got great suggestions from the veterans, but thought I'd like to have the opinion of someone that sounds to be at my skill level. Hopefully I'm not the only pansy afraid to self launch and land.
