Default OT - Do they eat kites?

Romer Grey With A Giant Thresher Shark In New Zealand In The Late 1920s.

Well, do they?

Well, they do like marlin, tuna and quite a bit of other seafood to be sure.
Ernest Hemingway And Henry Strater Examine The Remains Of A Huge Mutilated Blue Marlin Which Strater Fought Off Bimini In 1936. Apple-cored Again!

There is an area south of Bimini off Cat Cay known as the Graveyard bordering a favorite haunt for trollers, Tuna Alley. Fishermen hung that handle on it for the frequency sharks took out marlin and bluefin tuna that they tried to bring over the shelf there to impede sounding. I once saw about a 12 ft. hammerhead leisurely cruising along the dropoff at 105 ft. when I was just a young spud diving there.

Not to take something like that lying down, Ernest takes a bead on the toothy interloper, not really!

Lots more great old shots like these at:
