Default IF YOU SURF OR KITEBOARD SOUTHBEACH MIAMI, IMPORTANT!!!!

Dear Member,

As you know Miami Beach is facing a massive dredge & fill project by the Army Corps of Engineers. What you may not know is that hundreds, (Yes, Hundreds!) turned out at public meetings in Martin and St. Lucie counties to stop this project!

WHAT’S GOING ON?
Miami Beach has depleted all of their offshore sand for dredge & fill projects and is seeking to take sand from Federal waters further north. This has drawn intense criticism and gained numerous allies (some being very powerful elected officials) for the local Miami Beach Surfrider Chapter’s fight against this project.

YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION IS NEEDED
The Army Corps of Engineers is trying to promote this project under the premise that nobody in Miami Beach is against it. YOUR presence is urgently needed at the following meeting to de-bunk this false claim:

MEETING INFO.
Date: Tuesday – May 16th ; 6-8pm (starts & ends promptly)

What: Army Corp’s public ‘Scoping Meeting’ for proposed ‘dredge &fill’

What’s That?:The Army Corps is required by law to present the project to the public AND (more importantly) gather the public sentiment towards the project.

Where: Miami Beach Rod & Reel Club (Very Cool Location)

Where’s That?: Hibiscus Island is halfway across I-395 between Miami and Miami Beach (you’ll see a sign for ‘Palm & Hibiscus Island). Physical Address is 208 Hibiscus Island.

(Turn off I-395, go over 1st bridge. After going past the gatehouse: go over the 2nd bridge. Rod & Reel Club is on the right at the end of the 2nd bridge, parking is on the left).
