Thank you Rick - next article to follow this one up might have to be adversely how the Bermuda Highs increase winds over OBX (maybe pick up from SC and head north)...specifically how geostrophic winds line up to maximize the flow. And how Pamlico Sound differs from the Atlantic with respect to directions/speeds. I've always been fascinated with how the land and sea interface behaves with such a thin strip of land in between the 2 bodies of water - with one being shallower and containing different salinities.
