Default Orangebowl Paddleboard Championship in Photos - Part II

Here are some more images from the event.

Packet paddling for Jimmy Lewis and Brandon stroke home from the halfway point up river.

Chase paddling for Fanatic rounds the mark and rips down river to the Bay.

Someone stole the halfway mark and so a police boat on assignment to the race filled in.

Here comes Chris.

Kristin Thomas running up river fast to the turning point.

Paddling for five miles at speed against current at times has to take a toll but you wouldn't know it looking at these folks.

Hunter paddling hard up river and his heading into the Service soon after.

Chris leads a group to the Bay.

Mark Athanacio moving out on a NICE looking board. More about the Limited Edition Slice at: http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=10230

Lots of fit people in standup or got that way by doing it.

Chip moves out.

Lots of bridges along the way.

Chase leads one to the Bay.

Turning south to round the island and into the home stretch back to Bayside.

The river has changed in a hundred years!

Chase enters the Bay and looks happy to be there.

A line of silhouettes making north at best possible speed.

Danny passing a cruise ship docked at Dodge Island.

Danny comes in to capture first place.

Here comes Packet, looks relaxed.

Brandon takes third.

Betsy is pulling real hard for the finish, lots of smaller races comprising the big one.

Just crossed the finish and looking happy.

Rory takes it easy after the race.

Jim Higgins demos a board.

Garry positions the event boat for the next part of the event, Big Bros/Sisters and kids paddle.

Getting ready to go.

Racers are still coming in, what a relief to make it in.

Paula taking a young fellow out for a spin, way to go!

Tips before launching, a future Survivor competitor?

Chase tries to get the kinks out while touring some kids during the demo.

Have to admire this paddler's, Waterboy Web, concern and dedication. He spent a lot of time with this young fellow, showing him a new experience and a good time.

What a great event and for a good cause.

Jimmy talks with Helga with Hunter in the background.

Garry and Alexandra on the phone?

Paula lends a hand.

The winners!

Great job organizing the first time event! Thanks to Garry, Ken, Jimmy Lewis, the Orangebowl folks and all the other sponsors and participants for creating a fun event. Looking forward to next year already.
