This isn't kiting related but it was fun, so here goes ...

We went to a Brazilian Carnival Ball in Miami recently. Paulo Gualano has been putting these celebrations on for ex-pat Brazilians and other interested parties for many years through http://aboutshow.net/joomla/

Here is a video of some of the stage performances during the night:

Samba dancers with lots of energy going off throughout the evening.

Paula in Roman carnival garb with his samba troops. We've have seen them put on excellent shows at churrascaria over the years.

I don't know how many people came to the ball but it sure seemed like a lot. These Brazilians really know how to party.

There was dancing from 10 pm on along with numerous stage shows.

There was also a Capoeira show.

I had seen this group perform in Hollywood and captured an intriguing black & white image sequence. http://fksa.org/showthread.php?t=2289

People were encouraged to come in creative masks with prizes for the winners. This fellow won a roundtrip flight to Brazil.

Great dancers go to it on stage.

and off stage too.

Incoming!

The obligatory conga lines, this time joined by the samba dancers.

So, see you from this party. Should be another on tap a year from now. See you there.
