I finally went to the regular every other Thursday SUP races at Scotty's Landing in Coconut Grove, What a lot of fun! There was a great turnout as you can see. This is just a first look with a few images. Have more stuff to process and put up so stay tuned.

A bunch of folks from the shop next door to ASM's shop came down, http://iamcrossfit.com/ . These guys hit a ton of varied activities hard, standup tonight, who knows what next week. The events are coed and the women will give the guys more than a run for their money from what I saw tonight. It was a great time all around. Ken and Garry brought a bunch of Jimmy Lewis boards down for folks to demo. Ken is demonstrating his mind over water telekinetic method, "be the paddle."

Josh and Christophe try some ralley turns around the marks. Christophe went in on this one, the competition can be tight or just fun, paddlers choice.

Kent and crew have the races down to a science. No one needs to bring any boards as they are provided for the racers. There are relays, distance races, you name it. Maui got lots of board time in. Dogs love SUP races, kids too. It may look crowded but far from it, it seemed like everyone got their fill of racing and with several goes too.

The guys from Crossfit are about to launch into a distance race. One fellow even did it paddling the board, surfer style.

Folks had a great time with Kent, Ken, Garry, Gebi and the crew ready with tips and practical demonstrations on technique. I am not sure if the folks got a greater kick out of paddling to a finish or splashing in?! That is Mike in red from CrossFit urging the folks on.

There's great viewing, drinks and food right there at Scotty's

Gebi tries to out turn a competitor nipping at his heels. This was just before the dog jumped on his board and knocked Gebi in the water... Well, not really, but it could have happened!

The veteran watermen have a go at a hard fought distance race as the sun sets.

Great time and it happens every first and second Thursday. More photos to come, got some beaut's!
