oh boy here we go

up north here we have strong onshore flows with large waves, narrnarr narrow rocky beaches and (knock on wood) to date we don't have problems. We have a fast growing population of kiteboarders (tons of colleges and people with $) but we self police and stress lessons bigtime. I tavel alot and see newbie screw ups everywhere and I'm trying to figure out why up north here we just dont seem to have the problems that other southern east states have with newbs flying accross parking lots etc... I think a majority of kiters around here (Newport RI/Cape Cod MA region) are mostley converted poleboarders, sailors and surfers with sailing backgrounds that set a foundation of respect of the power & a basic understanding of wind. It also take a real effort to be a northern watersport, shit man the waters cold!

Not trying to start any fight or anything, just thinking out load, prob start a shit storm anyway but hey thats half the fun on the internet

Cheers, J-
