Default Jupiter Kiteboarding Invasion 2007 - Day I

The fourth year running of the Jupiter Kiteboarding Invasion started today.
It was light today, despite much more favorable (and wrong) NWS predictions.
It was so light that they barely got a freestyle heat completed. Still, there
was a great turnout and folks had fun.

Despite light wind it is amazing what images still cameras can capture.
The riders may think this is hopeless while at the same time looking pretty
incredible. A few examples follow with more to come ...

The event. (CLICK photo for full sized image)

Dave was hard at it milking what he could from the wind.
The surf was actually running pretty well at certain tides.

Stacey, riding for Best is carrying the new Bullaroo.

Jon Modica riding for Cabrinha drag races a surfer into the shore.

Dimitri throws one riding his own gear labels, Eclipse Kites
and Skywalker boards. Riders are demo'ing
gear from lots of manufacturers at the event.

Lightwave Dave shows off some new GK kites and LWD boards

Jimmy Lewis has boards on display including some standup paddle rigs

Jessie riding for Cabrinha tries to get barreled but lacking wind made it only halfway.
I don't recall anyone being able to quite make it today.

Mike Bradley riding for Viking Boards is leaning in, only to ...

Lean back, he didn't wipe out despite this!

So, just a quick look for now. I took several hundred photos and hopefully
more will follow tomorrow. Lots of interesting stuff, demos of many
brands, great people to meet and more at the Invasion, check it out tomorrow!
