I've stayed at Hawkscay on and off for over ten years. You usually can get in there without paying too much last minute during Fantasy Fest. KW is just about an hour south and the next day, it sure is peaceful up on Duck Key. I always wondered about kite launch there. Hawkscay is surrounded by a channel bounded by narrow spoil island. As usual Paul's got it all scoped out. There is a great kiter friendly launch, very close by and large with no trees in striking range. It is a great setup and good opportunity for someone.
