Rick, this was actually half way up the first beat of race 7. I had pretty good angle and speed and was riding a bit higher than the windward rider. Because he was riding lower but at a faster speed, he either had to cross my stern or try to ride over the top (which he decided to try). I was in a position that had full rights and probably should have protested as I was forced to avoid his kite and ride at a lower angle than I wanted to avoid tangleing. I eventually got flushed below Adam, but ended 4th in the race.
It's good to stay out of the protest room if possible as it cuts into beer drinking time afterward! We have a ton more video to post after the event.
