Membership has been required to kite at Crandon for nine years. Miami Kiteboarding is running the concession there now, you need proof of certification, to register before riding, fly a streamer, etc.. They should post rules, procedures and fees for 2010 soon. More at:

Anytime someone feels like ignoring launch rules, riding in out of bounds areas, causing complaints ... they're saying in no uncertain terms they WANT this at their launch. Think about it.
We're real lucky to still be allowed to ride at Crandon regardless.
