I asked the kayak rental guy if the ropes were a permanent thing, or seasonal to protect the bird eggs (there was a shit load of bird eggs within the ropes...)...he didn't know.

Any locals know if we're in the process of losing Tigertail?

Thx

Hello Dustin,

We've been diligently working to lose access at Tigertail one incident at a time for years. Most of the local guys, although apparently not all, are sensitive to this and take pains to try to keep us flying there. Visitors on the other hand and more than a few from our coast, the SE, have messed things up more than we have any right to.

Latino will have to give the current low down on the out of bound wildlife areas. My recollection is that these areas are out of bounds permently. No kiter with half a wit wants to mess with protected wildlife while launching, riding, etc. in violation of regulations. Birds are protected under the law in a major way, kiting on the other hand is not.

From what I know, access is still open for the moment. Latino is working hard to keep things going there. Too many kiters on the other hand are dragging things towards a ban.
