Launch Sites in the Keys
Can some of you locals run down some on-shore/off shore kite spots? Heard of course about Whale harbor and Smathers but wondering about Tavernier key or the hundreds of spots that look incredible on a chart. Just a quick run down of some boat-launchable spots in the keys...
Thanks, Rega |

launch sites in the keys
Almost every little town/ city in the keys have launch ramps for boats, and if you can't find any public ones most marina,s will let you launch from their place for a small fee, as far as places to ride, well all you have to do is look for a little sandy area so you don,t damage the seagrass etc. and you are free to have fun. There are a few boat ramps around key west that I can direct you to if you are in the area.

These are just the public ramps, still more including private ones.

Basically everywhere is permitted by boat (except within the Florida Bay portion of the everglades marked by the intercostal waterway...north of the middle and upper Keys). Tavernier has some cool features like an oceanside island with a nice flat to ride. There is a no-motor zone around part of it. The downwinders here in the Keys are incredible. We can rent you your own kite boat to use for your own private downwinder.
Just look at a chart to find endless riding possibilities. You can give us a call too and we'll hook you up.
