I dunno Kent. There was a HUGE turnout at Jon's premier. Lots of younger kiters, many I hadn't seen before. It's there backyard and as you say, the Miami and even the Delray guys don't venture far from their patch regardless of the enticement. More water and wind for us I guess. They really are missing out on what may be a world record unique experience about an hour up the road. Still, it has to be more fun playing bumper kites in traffic patterns in Matheson?!

Rick,
Take your guess on number of competitors. I think that if it goes on Sunday the day after the party that the turn out will be very good. It gives people a reason to make the drive and I'm guessing that we will get a few more from the Panhandle. My guess... 88 starters with 71 finishers... Although that's my guess, I really want to bump this up for Neil so I'm pushing for OVER 100! We need to make this a record. and, as you probably noticed Rick I left a large area out... I guess that Delray and surrounding should go into the Jup to Ft. Pierce. i don't know, maybe you can help my options out a bit. thanks. Kent |

As to number finishing? That's a tough one. I would think the higher the wind speed and bigger the waves the percentage making it all the way will be chipped away. If it is around 15 to 20 kts. I bet we could have a fairly high completion rate, say 70%??? Maybe even more. How about it we hold off for another day of 30 mph winds and waves to 15 ft.? Naaa, that was a great pre-race though.

Ok, I agree. I have some Adventure Sports Miami Bucks for the winner! Guesses must be in by 5 PM on Friday, December 7th. I will bring the ASM Bucks to the race for the winner. The official number of entrants will be taken from the Saturday night event party at Evolve. This is the number that will be use even if the actual number of entrants might change later.
