Holy $hit!!
I just saw the paper this morning on a 9 foot bull shark caught off a guys dock in our bay waters.
All I have to say is thank god that shark is no longer in our Bay. It makes me wonder if their is something bigger out there. http://www.sptimes.com/2007/06/04/So...ught_off.shtml

Guys I live down the street from this guy and trust me i am on the water almost every day and i have seen at least 200 plus bull sharks in the past couple of weeks as big if not bigger then this one ( fun as hell to catch if u got a couple of hours to kill and a big boat) I launch from a boat out there all the time near northshore and as you kite along the flats you can see groups of them, all the more reason to stay up on the board.

Unfortunately I have seen them that large myself, once while kiting in the Egmont key channel near some tarpon in the summer about 3 years ago. The very next day pictures of a bull shark attacking tarpon taken by a local tarpon fishing guide were posted in the paper and discussed in the news. It was so big, the fisherman thought it was a great white. Mote ID'd it as a large bull, like this one.
I am confident there are large numbers of them out there this time of year. You really wanna find some?, Charlotte Harbor is insane. |
