Need your help
The forecast looks great for the next few days, this could be a VERY bad thing given recent developments. Reports are coming in about problems at several launch areas in SE Florida. We need to start effectively self-enforcing sustainable riding habits or things may get a lot worse before they improve, if ever.
STAY BEYOND 100 YARDS OF SHORE WHEN KITING! Failing to do this simple thing has cost a week long ban at Ft. Lauderdale I understand, a general ban in Pompano, threatened ban in Boynton, Matheson is crowding up with obvious eventual consequences and no end of historical problems at launches all over. We can have meetings, post out the wazoo here and elsewhere but the only things that will make a difference is: *** The folks reading this need to stay well offshore, away from bystanders and compel other kiters to do the same thing. *** Ignore this and reap the consequences, fewer places to kite. COUNT ON IT. We need to wise up before it is too late. Municipalities and lifeguard squads talk among themselves, what one does to restrict an activity others may readily do as well. Get involved at your beach and work to get the poor behaviors under control or get ready to find another hobby. THIS AFTERNOON NORTHEAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET NEAR SHORE AND UP TO 5 TO 7 FEET IN THE GULF STREAM. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. TONIGHT EAST WINDS 15 TO 20 KNOTS. NEAR SHORE...SEAS 3 TO 5 FEET. IN THE GULF STREAM...SEAS 4 TO 6 FEET BUILDING TO 6 TO 8 FEET AFTER MIDNIGHT. INTRACOASTAL WATERS CHOPPY IN EXPOSED AREAS. TUESDAY EAST WINDS 20 TO 25 KNOTS BECOMING SOUTHEAST AROUND 20 KNOTS IN THE AFTERNOON. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS ROUGH IN EXPOSED AREAS. SHOWERS LIKELY THROUGH THE DAY. THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY IN THE AFTERNOON. TUESDAY NIGHT SOUTH WINDS 20 TO 25 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY. WEDNESDAY SOUTH WINDS 20 TO 25 KNOTS. SEAS 5 TO 7 FEET. INTRACOASTAL WATERS A MODERATE CHOP. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY.
