I just spoke to Brad Lange event organizer and he tells me they are having a good old time. They are in wind waiting mode at present but they are hitting the kicker and sliders in a serious way under tow and the guys are going off. He tells me there is some serious talent present and they are moving into some fairly intense tricks.
The kickers in use today appear below along with some older shots of early efforts from a few years ago. Hitting the kicker in 2004 Ryan R. styling while wind waiting at the 2003 Invitational Kent M. hitting an early "canoe" slider in 03! Andre Phillip having a go too and having fun! More images of a wind waiting day and the fun times that go with appear at: http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2312023 Also, there are several boats present and folks are commuting out to the sand bar for the ongoing party there. The dragon flies are big around here, got a swatter? Brad says that as soon as winds come up, likely from a side offshore direction by predictions, they will be running longer heats on the outside of the flats with support from the pontoon boat and other craft as has been done in past years. The Claudio Silva Raffle is planned to go off at the end of the day on Saturday. The great thing about the Keys, is that it is often all good ... and as they say, life is good.
