So, Susi came into town for just one night on her way back home to the DR after months on the road (and water).
The event was held at The Kiteshop on Key Biscayne, Miami, FL A look inside the well designed shop. Click for FULL SIZED IMAGE The Kiteshop crew. Cabrinha Pro riders, Susi Mai hangs out with top rider Damien Leroy. Damien is ranked number one USA men's competitor in the PKRA. Kent Marinkovic of Adventure Sports emcess the presentation of Pro Photographer Guido Flueck's images from the Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini Crossing. Kent's team won first place in the Crossing. Guido with Eye-B Extreme Productions sets up. Paula and Luco. Ty Luckett of Kite Hatteras.Net and Cabrinha team rider with his tricked out mega fast kiteboat. Ty has come up with a lot of tailored innovations on this incredible boat to facilitate kiteboarder training focusing on wakeboard style tricks. How? It has a lot to do with Ty's "pole" which I will refer to as the "boom!" Ty has been working on this concept for a while which delivers rapid learning of intermediate to advanced board handling and related skills for wakestyle kiteboarding tricks. More about the "pole" CAN BE FOUND HERE . The boom can be positioned high, low, forward, back or wherever works best for the rider and moves under development. This boat smokes too, Kent was out barefooting at around 50 mph with Ty on this thing. This long, beamy boat is rated for 20 passengers although you would carry less for kiting. It has an onboard air compressor for pumping up kites and PA for instructing riders and more. The outboard can be raised for ripping through the shallows as well through all that butter. So why not get airborne with Ty on his remarkable boat? Could be fun. Nite from Susi and Damien, see you folks on the water!
