Tickets at Cypress
Rode Cypress tonight and it was, as expected, pretty gusty. Wind kept suckering me into going back out. Started packing up as the sun was setting and when I finished and started walking to my car I saw the Park Ranger writing me a ticket. I asked him if the park closed at sunset, as I thought, and he replied that "The sun just set and it's 7:42pm." After a little begging, he voided the ticket. I apologized one last time and told him that I would let the other kiters know so here it is.

Good to know,
I saw you at cypress as I was coming back from IRB, I would have taken the flat water of Cypress any day over the gulf Today. I was getting launched off six foot breakers, That stuff is hard to ride, Wind was solid 20 i think And side on. |

Thanks for the update RM3001!
Ft. Desoto is the same deal, out BEFORE dark. They don't give tickets, its a 6 month ban if you're not out by dark. That is not a joke. Please check the beach for lost gear and trash on the way out. Kitespear- Had I known that was you, I would have stopped and introduced myself! Eric and I launched up at 27th Ave and made it to Reddington Pier before the wind got sketchy. It was definitely a washing machine, but well worth it! Later |
