Newbie here
Hola, I completed a kb school in Cozumel in January but don't have any ocean time. I work a block from Jupiter beach and was wondering if anyone would lend some help in the transition from flat water to beach launches. I recently picked up gear but I am hesitent to launch without some experianced help. Thanks in advance

Sounds good. How was the wind in Cozumel when you were there? Hopefully someone will jump in from the Jupiter area. Best advice would be to fill in Jeremy or Greg with your background in Mex and figure out a couple more specific lessons with http://jupiterkiteboarding.com/ or http://www.tckiteboard.com/ in Ft. Pierce. Waves offer some different challenges from flat water with Jupiter serving up some fairly heavy shoreside surf in season.
In addition to that, you might head down to kite beach in Jupiter and try to meet guys. Help out launching and landing kites and observing. If you pay attention and ask some good questions you should pickup quite a bit of good information about getting around in that launch area. There is lots of useful content on this site as well, such as in: http://fksa.org/forumdisplay.php?f=29

Thanks
Rick, thanks for the tips, all good! I picked up the gear from Jeremy, so yes I think I will start with a reefresher class as well as going to the beach to meet some of the locals. The backside of Siger island next to MacArthur Park looks like a good calm water area as well as Stuart Causeway.
Thanks again! |
