Key West Kiteboarding Guidelines

Hello Greg,

Thanks for the updates. The original posting contained guidelines prepared by Paul Menta to try to avoid access problems down there. Since it is out of date, I just deleted it. I wasn't aware that things had changed that dramatically since Paul prepared them but obviously they have. It would be great if you could write up a list of several points that local riders observe at Smathers. They can become the new guidelines.

Say something like:

1. Launch is for intermediate or stronger kiteboarders and NOT for new kiters that have not had lessons.

2. Kite leashes must be used.

3. Launch is located at the east end of Smathers Beach.

4. Useable winds are east of northeast (NE is side offshore and unstable) to west.
