Most of us have a 7m, a 12m and a 16m kite because the wind changes speed. Last night was 30 to 35 knots I heard. Today is 20. Some days are 10 to 12.

not sure who said it was 35knots... thats 42mph.... i was fine on my 9m, id say around 30-35 mph was the max

A good first kite would be a 15M or 16M bow style kite (waroo, etc). This would let you ride from 9mph - 20ish mph depending on the kite.

A board, 132x40 and something bigger (150x46) for light wind... a skimboard (no straps or fins) will work in place of a second board.
