the woman i talked to said the pic was in a folder called "monster jumps".. they printed it as such.. but then it was found to be a tow up.. i guess they are concerned to promote tow ups as a normal way to kite and didnt want to put it in the limelight.. ummm..too late.. hahaha..

What a pickle. Sounds like maybe it was an actual jump now.
The thing is, no one would believe it even if it was and it's not worth it arguing over it. I believe Bill cuz of the situation he described and know he (if anyone) could take advantage of it without crappin his shorts. Photo shopping the other rider in front of him and the fact he is so far away kinda kill the picture and it's authenticity anyway. Oh well. |

Well, the biggest kiteloop i've ever seen was from Ruben in hurricane conditions off of a wave, and it was about 65% of his line length, which made it about 60 feet high.
In this photo Billy seems to be 1.4 times his line length high. Thats over 100 feet... closer to 120 feet. 120 feet is a big number for a jump on flat water. I think they got the photos mixed up. |

Who knows.
In the photo Billy also appears to be an ant hanging on to a girly drink umbrella tied with floss at low resolution. Why didn't they put a good pic of Billy up where we actually recognize him and he looks cool? I know I should be more P.C., less critical. But it's true. |

Doesn't matter anyway, after all it's Billy on the cover of a mag!
Even if he was standing there drinking a beer, it still rocks for Billy. I don't care if it's a tow up or a jump, cause either one, going that high, is respectable to me. |

So - does anyone remember billy's break away harness that he had when he first started kiting?? He'd be riding along try a jump and his harness would open up and he'd have to try to get it back on while holding onto the kite. What a funny and scarry sight sometimes........ so from when he started to now, he is always fun to watch!

Yeah,
I remember that P.O.S. Even worse, although Billy made it work, was that cheap wakeboard (from walmart maybe) that he cut about 5 inches off of both tips to remove the rocker. That was the ugliest board of all time. |

Talking about Billy, I've received yesterday the latest issue of Kiteboarding Magazine (August issue) and Mr. Parker is in one of the pictures in the "lines" section. The picture was taken during the Triple S invitational in Hatteras. He is one of the real sliders. One of the articles mentions that he got third place in the overall event.
Cool!
