Not to stir it up, but my 16m RRD ZH wouldn't have relaunched.
That thing was a nightmare to relaunch. It was so bad (how bad was it?), once it hit the water, it was pretty much game over.
I loved riding that thing, but hated life when it hit the water.

Seems like most kites these days are easy peezy.

Easiest kite ever to relaunch (silly easy) - the new f-one bandit.

Hey Scott,

I was wondering where to demo the bandit in FL ?
Any shop carry F-One around here ?
How did you like it ? Did the trim bother you ?
I know the guys in SF do have it but it's too far...

Did you also tried the revolt ?

A rider at the Skyway was nice enough to let me demo his kite.
I unfortunately forgot his name, he is pretty new. (Gene, I think)
I thought the kite was really great for a new rider.
It was really stable, had unreal low end (he had a 9m), great top end too and the relaunch was silly easy.

I rode it mainly to see how much low end it had and how easy it relaunched.
He was raving about it, so I figured I would ask if I could ride it.
I can't remember where he bought it... I think he got it from Cali, though.
It's shape really reminded of the old f one foil shapes.
Odd looking kite, compared to most. I think it's a c kite with delta or something?
It seemed like a wakestyle rider would really enjoy it, too (just parking the kite and pretending you were at the cable park).
It turned faster than some bows/hybrids, slower than the absolute fastest out there.

I can't remember the trim too well. I remember reading a thread somewhere that it was issue (tuning the kite or something).
I didn't get that impression at all though. What stood out was it seemed user friendly, stable, and like a good kite for attempting a one kite quiver (with two boards, if under 180).
I didn't get a ton of time on it, but I remember thinking it might be a great first kite or wakestyle kite.

Thanks for posting , thats me setting up in the foreground.....i heard a HUGE bang, and thought a kite exploaded, now i see what happened.

My 07' Warroo 7m tends to sink when resting on its trailing edge, i 'think' its becouse it has less struts than other brands, more struts would keep it floating above water ready to relaunch IMO...... I get into trouble in surf all the time, the waves certainly add to that factor, maybe its the tiny struts themselves, but prolly the small number of stuts really. Maybe a bigger center strut would float it better...tho im no kite designer by ANY means. Buying an 08' 9m when i get the bread.

Pretty much all kites do that when they land on their trailing edge. Fortunately it only happens if you back stall it into the water (like in real light wind for example). A few hard tugs on the center lines and it's back in the air.

Thanks Scott for the quick review
I was asking that because I missed the demo day when I was in Europe last summer :-(
Yea the distributor (bayareakitesurf) is located in the San Fransisco Area.
The delta shape looks pretty interesting and the feel is suppose to be between the flat kite and the C, right ?
I'd like to demo it with some Floridian wind...
