Am new to St. Pete and the FKA forum. Am in the process of moving down from Chicago. Was wondering if anyone knew who maintained the IWindsurf.com sensor at Pass A Grille? Its down and I was wondering when it will come back up?
Sent an e-mail to IWindsurf on this, but have heard nothing back. Was wondering if anyone local had the inside scoop..... Regards, Tim |

Thanks for comments on Tampa Bay wind sensors. Realize nearby sensors offer reasonable picture of wind conditions at Pass A Grille. As I mainly kite off St. Pete Beach and Pass A Grille its nice to have a working sensor on the beach...particularly on marginal days when a few knots of wind make the difference between riding and flopping around.
In any case the e-mail to IWindsurf reporting the outage got the reply below posted on the IWindsurf.com Pass A Grille wind condition page that follows... "8/20/2008: We are investigating the source of the outage and as soon as new info is available we will post it here. Thank you." Regards, Tim |
