Unhappy Cypress Beach

Anybody knows what the deal is at Cypress Beach? What are they building? when is it going to be open? Are we going to be able to kite there? Last time I went there was a "No trespasing sign". I hope the spot is open for the windy season.

They are supoosed to be done in OCTober I think, they are extending the beach, bulding restroom facilites(which are complete) and I think they may be putting a seawall type structure to inclose the Bay/swimming area, which will mean super flat water.

When ever they are done it won't be soon enough, it's an extra hour drive and 5 gallons of gas, for me to ride now.

heheh.. i work 5 minutes from Cypress ..

takes me longer to catch the elevator to bottom floor, walk to parking garage and get in my car than drive to Cypress.. really a great place to ride when the winds are blowing.

Default Cypress is Open!

I stopped by today b/c I saw people on the beach while going across the Howard Frankland. The beach by the lagoon side is open but the beach in front of the pavillion is still being worked on. The tide was out but there still wasn't much beach on the lagoon side. It almost look like that beach has gotten smaller and it doesn't go as far down as it use to. They planted some plants at the far end and this makes part of the beach unuseable. There weren't that many people there but it was still very difficult to even lay out my lines.

See you out there!
