Hey Gau,
I have visited Mantra, Ecuador last year and loved it: great spots, community, downwinders and food with very little tourists. You can fly for cheap to Guayaquil and the cost of life there is nothing compared to the Carribeans. Contact Davo at Oceanfreaks: davo@oceanfreaks.com http://www.oceanfreaks.com/ Tony |

Cool thanks! Although I looked up on priceline and cheapflights and the lowest I could find for a round trip was $700.
Nice website too, makes me want to leave the office and go kite seeing those sweet pics! |

Wind is a key consideration in these times of irregular wind. Although I have heard great things about the conditions off Peru and Ecuador. Anyway, you might look into Aruba and Bonaire. Insel Air flies fairly inexpensively to these islands. The wind is pretty reliable too, except for now during tropical weather season. In Aruba, Boca Grande off the SE coast is pretty good. I found Fisherman Huts on the NW leeshore to be too gusty. Bonaire you need to go off Pink Beach around Red Slave off the SW corner of the island. The water is flat but you need to contract for a chase boat staged there just in case. Cabarete is another option but again tropical weather season can really mess with your wind prospects. Have a good trip wherever you end up.
