Yeah. No big deal. The kite in the Interstate didn't even kill anyone.
DOT is gonna give us at least five more tries to put a kite in the road that actually takes someone out. This is lame how we keep missing the targets. They are waiting for the "real deal" because the FHP really wants that cameo on the 11 o'clock news with the story entitled "Killer Kite". It's cool to be in the news. Sounded like this one happened without warning.. sky was clear, no squall line, etc. Just BAM 35 and "O SHIT".
I still recommend crashing the kite in the water as soon as you realize you are waay overpowered ... no need to get dragged 100 yards before you decide to ditch the kite. If it relaunches just crash it again and then release to an outside line if you can. |

Yesterday myself and a few others had a suprise side on from the northwest at indian rocks beach. Ended up doing a downwinder until the storms came through...
Totally unexpected, hopefully it will happen again today... |
