I'll be away but I have comments.

This is of course is very noble, but something more needs to be done.
Otherwise if you clean the beach it will be dirty again the next w/e.

It may not help but I suggest its worth a try; erect a sign that says something like:

"This is your beach. It our beach. It is our children's beach . Please leave it cleaner than when you found it and use the garbage bags provided."

I would then place underneath the sign a small supply of very large garbage bags. See if people actually use them ( or just steal them). I may be worth a shot. We may be surprised an convert a few people.

More garbage containers are need too.

Default coral harbor

if it's windy out of a kitable direction,we will go ripen it up after the beach clean up and lunch..
I realy liked riding near those islands off to the south of coral harbor, and can't wait to do it again.

Do some cleaning for me too. I have to leave for my usual trip....and of course the wind is picking up again.

I'm sorry that I will miss the clean up.

I agree with BB, more garbage containers are needed and maybe we could place them right on the beach...

Anyway, have fun and try not to kite too much without me !!!!

Default ignorance is bliss

I asked the church that I attend NPCC to put some bins at blue hill, they did.
5 40 gal steel bins, the garbage collection comes every 2 weeks .
so after 1 week end of bahamians partying up there they where full and would over flow, and have to wait for another week before they would be empted.
the other day there where 2 or 3 bins left up there.
I have asked the humain sosiaty to round up the dogs up there (exept for low tide.) and they said ok but have done nothing.
I agrea that somthing has to be done in the long run, and we will just be putting a band aid on it for now.
Anyways I will get NPCC to put out a bunch of 40 gal bins and suggest that they make a nice sign with balloon blokes words.
if we where to leave garbage bags there they would just take them home with them , or use them for rain coats.
I think that the people that use the beach don't really know any better and some signage might help them to know better.
well I will see you guys when you get back and bummer your going because there is a pro rider coming next week.(can't say who yet)

Default update on beach clean up

my friend christian from NPCC has organized the 2 property owners associations out there at coral harbor to meet and keep this beach clean up project going, so it's not just a one off thing (band aid).

Thumbs up the coral haror beach clean up was a success

about 100 odd people turned up from the 2 property owners associations
and Npcc members and 2 out of about 10 kiteboarders to help clean up the beach, a 40 foot dumpster was full by the end of the morning.
more binns (40 gal steel drums) with messages written on them from the kids that live in coral harbor where placed there.
we will see what the future brings as far as keeping it clean.
