You've heard the hype--come demo gear at the Hatteras Expo!

You have heard the hype about the new 2011 gear -- now come and try it out for yourself! Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort and The Kiteboarder Magazine are proud to bring you the Hatteras Kite Expo from May 28-30, 2011. The Hatteras Kite Expo will be a fun event with the focus on getting the latest kiteboarding and stand up paddleboard gear into your hands to try out! The event will also be offering educational clinics, raffle give-aways, and an SUP race along with nightly entertainment.

Participating brands include: RRD, Mystic, Underground, Cabrinha, Flysurfer, Best, F-One, Epic, Ocean Rodeo, and SU-2 Boards. Pending companies are Airush and Wainman Hawaii. SUP demos will be provided by Kitty Hawk Surf Co with boards from Jimmy Lewis, Yolo, Surftech and Naish. Kiters must be minimum intermediate level riders, able to go upwind, self rescue, perform basic tricks and be comfortable in 'traffic'. All people wishing to demo kite or SUP gear must sign a waiver release form and provide credit card information for any damage to gear caused by negligence or abuse e.g. the demo event is not the time to try your first kite loop:-)

Naish Stand Up Paddleboard Race - The races will begin at Waves Village: The Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort in Rodanthe, NC (MP40) at 6pm on Saturday, May 28th. There is a board restriction of 12'6" and under to qualify for the prize. Check back for additional details. www.thekiteexpo.com

5pm - Kick off Party @ Good Winds Seafood & Wine Bar upstairs at the Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort Fish Fryday - $12.95 All-You-Can-Eat locally caught Mahi-Mahi! Live Music 6pm-10pm. Largest Beer/Wine menus in the Outer Banks!
Saturday May 28

6pm - Endless Summer Weekend with Robert August and the Kona Summer Concert Series at REAL Watersports, Waves. The Wilder Brothers perform 6pm-10pm on the waterfront stage. Robert August Autograph Session 6-8pm inside the REAL Flagship Store. Dinner and Drinks available at MOJOs Sunset Cafe.
Sunday, May 29

4pm – 9pm - Live Music at The Kitty Hawk Kites Kiteboarding Resort: Joanna Lynne // The Pawn Shop Lifters. Movie Night: the weekend’s events are recapped by GoPro Video on an Outdoor Movie Screen. Thank the Keg Sponsors for your drinks!
