I'm one of those arses. December 2005 First day I got up and rode, during a lesson at shell island, my instructor yelling stop, stop, stop, I'm thinking hell no I been trying to get up for a month now. Made it across the channel lost my board, standing there by myself fighting to hold a C kite the best I can, and this dude comes out of nowhere scoops up my board spins around and shoots upwind drops it so that it blows straight to me. I thank him later at the beach, to get a "no problem anytime, you looked good out there" and now I see the same guy making it at the top level. Just shows that good things happen to good people.
