Default Miami Kite Masters 2009 Update: WIND at 18kts !

The 2009 Miami Kiteboarding Masters is this weekend, May 16 & 17, at Crandon Park!

As you know Crandon is an atomic place to ride when the wind is above 15kts !

So we have it all ! the forecast is terrific for the weekend: 18 to 20kts ! Nice weather high tide by mid-day ! can't ask for more.

Program update:

· Course races will on Saturday morning and the freestyle contest in the afternoon during high tide.
· IMPORTANT NOTICE: For those who have not yet registered, competitior registration will be from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The riders meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m. SHARP!
· On Sunday morning we will run more course races followed by paddleboard demos and fun-races, and strapless exhibition.

Sponsor giveaways will be raffled to both riders and the general public. The variety of items include:

Important Note for Non-competitor kitesurfers :

Regular rules apply: You MUST sign in at the MKB Booth and display your stearmer on your kite lines.
Daily pass for non-members is $20 .
During On-going races and freestyle competition, riding will be temporarily stopped.

Expect many spectators and swimmers in Crandon Park this weekend. YOU MUST NOT RIDE OR DRIFT INTO THE SWIM ZONE AT ANY TIME. DOING SO WILL RESULT IN EXPULSION BY LIFEGUARDS ON JET SKIS.

Maybe even more and starting on Friday ...

Friday...East winds 10 to 15 knots becoming 15 to 20 knots. Seas 2 to 3 feet building to 3 to 5 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Friday Night...East winds 20 to 25 knots becoming 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters rough in exposed areas. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday...East winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Saturday Night...East winds 15 to 20 knots. Seas 4 to 6 feet. Intracoastal waters choppy in exposed areas. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Sunday Through Monday...Southeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Seas 2 to 4 feet. Intracoastal waters a moderate chop. Chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Rick I think they may have made a typo. Isnt it supposed to be $10 per day for non-members?

$10. per days sounds familiar, hope you're right!

They bumped the forecast to 20 kts., Fowey is already at 20 to 23 kts. (6 miles offshore and 123 ft. up)!
