Default Lost/Stolen board 3/09 East Beach

A 2005 blue/white 139 Jimmy Lewis production was found Thursday afternoon at East Beach.
This board was apparently "left" leaning against a tree for someone else to pick up and claim.

The board is now gone.

The park lost/found= no board

There is a reward for the board and/or information which leads to the recovery of the board.

I hope this loss does not become a recurring incident, we've always had a great group of honest locals in the scene and to my knowledge there have been no rip offs at the launch pad.

Karma

Hello everyone,
I wish my first post was on a positive post. I was one of 2 students taking lessons Thursday on EB. When we noticed the board floating downwind of us we pulled it up on the beach. When no one came to get the board we moved it near the palm trees so it would be more visible. I spoke with several people about the board in an effort to try and find the owner. Including one person who used the board to weigh his kite down on the beach. When I got home that night I went looking at a few web pages and discovered the lost and found section on the local message board. I registered and sent Alan a PM. After reading the message board on Saturday, I called Alan and apologized for not taking responsibility for his board. The facts are --- No one I spoke with took responsibility for the board. In that aspect we are all guilty. I still feel like crap over the whole situation.
Just incase you were wondering why the board was left on the beach in the first place. Alan was injured and had to leave in a hurry. I’m glad Alan’s injury wasn’t serious.
How should I mark my gear so it won’t rub or wash off?
Robert

Robert

Try a piece of clear tape with info written with sharpie marker on it then place another piece of clear tape over that. Sail repair tape works great.
Thanks for trying to locate the boards owner, he is a super cool guy and it really stinks the board is missing.
The good news, Allan is alright, he collided with another riders board and lacerated his leg on the fin. He was rushed to the clinic where a team of specialists were called in to apply neosporin and multiple bandaids. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Checked with the park lost and found today and still no sign of a board.

When are the Band-Aids expected to come off? I pray for Allan's speedy recovery. I hope to see him on the water, so I can give him a High Five!(kidding)
Robert- You absolutely did the right thing! You are a new student, and probably don't know any of us(or,our gear) but you made the effort to help! Thank you.

Stealing is weak. Lets all keep an eye out for Al's board as well as an eye on each other's gear going forward...
