Bikinis From Brazil & Capoeira?!!!

Here's the concept, find a good locale, scenic beach or suitable place for Capoeira and showing off some Brazilian fashions. Chrys Rocha of Bikinis-From-Brazil asked me to shoot a calendar a few years back, highlighting her fashions on some beautiful models on the coast. Some of the photos from that shoot appear below. Recently, the Brazilian Consulate and many others put on Brazil On the Beach in Hollywood. There was an amazing Capoeira demonstration. Photos from that appear below as well. Now imagine, both sets of images intermingled with a great backdrop like Hillsboro Light, the courts at Lauderdale Beach or ???. Capoeira with fashions around the roda, then modeling, samba whatever moves the folks and back again. Great way to show off Brazilian culture, style and passion and for me to capture some more intriguing images!



Lady's first, then again, there are some pretty amazing female Capoeiristas



Capoeira is a martial art which emphasizes deception. In fact I understand weaving deception into the moves may be even more valued than offensive prowess.



We hit a number of locales along the coast, including this parasailing boat. Chrys is being flown up, see her?



There goes a skilled lady capoeirista now. Launching a standing forward flip, over soft concrete pavers? Amazing athletes!

Just added this clip as much for background as anything else as you look through the still photos. Capoeira in motion looks quite a bit different than when seen through still photos alone though.
