Default Naples city kite boarding rules and regulation

Naples city kite boarding rules and regulation

The kite boarding rules and regulation in Naples was controlled by kite boarders and that was good for the last 10 years 80 % of kite boarders in Naples obey their own rules,
Today kite boarding has grown to the point that on a windy day in Naples city kite boarders are all over the place making it hard for the locals to control and patrol Naples city beaches.

On Sunday February 19 2012 the future of kite boarding in Naples city Florida changed forever
The city of Naples is taking control of the rules and regulation for kite boarding with the option to ban kite boarding in the near future, at the moment the authorities of Naples city has designated a kite boarding area (spot) 18ave south, south of 18ave access
Naples city temporary rules for kite boarders

1-Temporary kite boarding access 18ave south, south of the access
2-Stay behind swimmer buoys
3-No speed or wake inside of swimmers area

There were complaints made and so one of the cities authorities Dock master Roger Jacobsen
Came to the winds talkers store to discuss the problem’ We are trying very hard not to have kite boarding in Naples taken away but we need all the local kite boarders to come together and work together otherwise we will have nowhere to kite.

This is so unfortunate to hear, and becoming all too familiar to our sport. Up here in the North Pinellas county area we recognize that we share tight spaces with the public. With that said, we created detailed ride maps of each location in attempts to define what we should and shouldn't be doing. With all of the information that is out there, there are still individuals that push it or ignore it. The results of that kind of behavior are not too hard to predict. We hope that you guys can survive down there with what limited access you have left. We have been fighting the good fight up here and let us know if there is anything we can do to help in your cause.
