Default Paddle 4 people on biscayne bay

"SATURDAY JUNE 12!!

PADDLE 4 PEOPLE ON BISCAYNE BAY .... $5 FEEDS A HOMELESS PERSON FOR A DAY!!!!

ENJOY A DAY OF SUPING AMONG FRIENDS AT THE STANDARD SPA AND HOTEL FOR CHARITY

THE BASICS:

Racer's registration fee: $35.
Racer's meeting @ Purdy's boat Ramp 8:00 am.
Race scheduled start 9:30 am.
Parking available at Purdy's boat ramp metered parking lot.
Spectators are welcome at The Standard Hotel.
BBQ ($10/person).

THE EVENT:

Starting at 8am Paddleboarders and South Florida residents who wish to learn will gather to enter the race with a minimum donation. Obtaining racing numbers and event shirts, that feature our corporate sponsorships, they will be entered and tracked by our system. The race will start promptly at 9:30 am. Paddlers will be separated in three classes – Elite 5-mile, 3-Mile Race, and 3-Mile just for fun.

Upon completion of the race, winners will be announced to the spectators/racers at a post-race event that will feature a barbecue and a silent auction to raise additional funds for the homeless of Miami. Also, during the post-race event, paddleboard clinics will be held for those who have made donations throughout the event.

THE CAUSE:

Camillus House provides humanitarian services to men, women and children who are poor and homeless. Camillus offers a full spectrum of services that includes food, shelter, housing, rehabilitative treatment, and health care. Each service is carried out with the deeply held belief that every human being deserves love, respect and an opportunity to live a dignified life.

Each night, more than 1,000 persons are provided emergency, transitional or permanent housing in one of the 13 residential facilities operated by Camillus from Homestead to Opa-Locka. Camillus provides more than 600,000 free meals and 25,000 medical encounters on an annual basis through its sister agency, Camillus Health Concern.
$35 feeds one homeless person for an entire week.
